AMATEUR choirs are welcoming new members at rehearsals for autumn concerts over the next couple of weeks or so. Popular non-audition choir North Camden Chorus is Vivaldi and Vaughan Williams are its Christmas concert in St Mary Brookfield. New singers are welcome to come along to its first autumn rehearsal starting at 7pm on Tuesday at William Ellis School, Highgate Road, NW5. Singers of all, or no, experience are welcome, especially sopranos, tenors and basses. www.ncchorus.org.uk

Adventurous Camden Choir is singing pieces by Holst, Parry, Vaughan Williams and Dani Howard with the London City Orchestra at its late November concert at Holy Trinity, Sloane Street, SW1. Rehearsals start at 7.15pm next Monday evening, warm-up from 7pm, at St Saviour, Eton Rd, Chalk Farm. Camden Chamber Choir is singing pieces in praise of St Cecilia, patron saint of music, at its autumn concert in late November at St Mary-the-Virgin, Primrose Hill. Rehearsals start on Saturday, September 24, at 10.30am, at St Mary’s. New singers are welcome, especially tenors and basses. Fleet Singers Community Choir is starting its autumn rehearsals next Monday evening, 7.30pm, at Gospel Oak Methodist Church, Agincourt Road, NW3. Rehearsals run to December 5. The Royal Free Music Society is singing Haydn’s Creation at its mid-November concert at St Mark’s, Regent’s Park. New members are welcome, the only requirement is the ability to sing in tune. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings, from 7pm, in the Peter Samuel Hall at Royal Free Hospital.

Pieces by Berlioz, Vaughan Williams, Finzi and Charpentier are being sung by the non-audition Barts Choir at two Entente Chorale concerts in early December in Cadogan Hall. Barts is much the largest non-audition choir in London, open to all comers, ability to sing in tune not required, though definitely preferred. Rehearsals start at 6.45pm on Monday evening at City Temple, Holborn. There are three “taster” rehearsals for beginners. www.bartschoir.com
